Every year in Maleme two big anniversary commemorations take place. The first one is every third Sunday of November. It is a folk requiem organized by the German embassy. This year will be on the 20th of November.
The second one is on the 20th of May anniversary date of battle of Crete and it is organized by the German veteran paratroopers.
A well organized dancing and music event for people of all ages as long as they are in the mood of dancing and having fun.
Every year, the Youth Club of Platanias in association with the Municipality of Platanias organizes the Maleme Beach Party close to the beach of Maleme. Last year’s ticket price was 3€, capacity of people approximately 12000 (standing), for the sound have been used 9000 watts and for the visual effects have been used lasers.
